Abstract

LUIZ, Ingrid et al. TEACHING MODELS AND NEUROSCIENCE: POPULARIZING THE BRAIN THROUGH NONFORMAL EDUCATION. Educ. Teoria Prática [online]. 2021, vol.31, n.64, e51. ISSN 1981-8106.  https://doi.org/10.18675/1981-8106.v31.n.64.s15209.

This work aims to report the experience of an extensionist action of the National Week of Science and Technology focused on teaching Neurosciences to children and adolescents. To this end, material and artistic practices inspired by the book Caçadores de neuromitos KIDS: em busca da verdade sobre o cérebro were used at two booths, which were visited by 375 people. At the end of the activities, visitors gave their opinion about the activities through emoticons in a five-point Likert scale (I hated it, I didn’t like it, indifferent, I liked it, I liked it a lot). More than 90% of the respondents reported “I liked it a lot” in both booths. The monitors noticed the engagement of participants by asking questions and smiling, showing interest in the proposed activities.
