Abstract

This article aims to evaluate the themes chosen by fourth-grade students of the Agricultural Family School of Cachoeiro de Itapemirim (Efaci) participating in the Professional Project of the Youth (PPJ) in 2016, as well as to analyze the methodology applied into two PPJs. Moreover, it also seeks to present students’ perception about environmental education (EE) within the school setting by means of a questionnaire applied to students from the first to the fourth grade of the secondary school integrated to the agricultural technical education in 2017. More than 55% of the PPJs themes dealt with EE, which was addressed by raising children’s awareness about the issue and by workshops with recycled materials. Questionnaire data revealed that students perceive how the school approach the theme of EE, and that the project promoted a change in students’ behavior towards the environment, thus corroborating with the pedagogical proposal of Efaci.
