Abstract

RODRIGUES, Penélope Alberto; CARRIJO, Viviane Letícia Silva  and  MODESTO-SARRA, Luciana Kool. EXPERIENCES OF A SOERE: the viable unheard of amid the pandemic. Revista Teias [online]. 2021, vol.22, n.67, pp.122-132.  Epub Feb 14, 2023. ISSN 1982-0305.  https://doi.org/10.12957/teias.2021.62012.

This paper aims to discuss a proposal for a virtual soiree, held in June 2020 in a Zoom meeting, by Brincada do Brincar, a branch of the extension project “Brincadas: the viable unheard of in times of crisis” (PUC-SP). The pandemic context of the soiree's period is discussed, and the motivations for holding the virtual soiree within the scope of the Brincadas Project are presented. The virtual soiree is described and analyzed through the selection of digital files from the project's collection; it is analyzed based on freirean studies, mainly on the concept of “the viable unheard of” (FREIRE, 1970/1987), and on Vygotsky's play (1933/1991). Grounded on participants’ experiences, the soiree created possibilities for acts of hope in the face of the global health crisis and the context of isolation and physical distance. This poetic encounter fostered interaction and collaboration among those involved, who were able to experience the creation of a new way of feeling, acting, living, and being in the world.

Keywords : covid-19; untested feasibility; virtual soiree.
