The article presents an excerpt from a doctoral thesis in Education, with emphasis on Special and Inclusive Education and explores creativity, visual arts and the high ability/giftedness as research report. The study aimed to investigate, in the perspective of specialists in visual arts, creativity in learners identified and in process of identification in the Center for Activities of High Abilities/ Giftedness (NAAH/S). This is qualitative research outlining an action-research, that involved the accomplishment of a course named Artexpansões, to provide learners grounded knowledge in visual arts in which artistic techniques were adopted aiming to stimulate the learners’ creativity. For data production, painting and collage were used. The learner’s products unanimously considered creative by the specialists were analyzed. As a result, the specialists stressed elements that indicate creativity in the distinct compositions. The analyses performed in this study confirm that the products of painting and collage created by these learners enable creativity expression.
