Abstract

GATTI, José Paulo. Reading, writing and literature: multidisciplinary analysis of the insertion into culture. Rev. Elet. Educ. [online]. 2019, vol.13, n.2, pp.673-688.  Epub Jan 01, 2020. ISSN 1982-7199.  https://doi.org/10.14244/198271992396.

This article seeks to put together some of the ideas defended by thinkers in the fields of linguistics, philosophy and literature, regarding the social process of individuation - the integration of subjects to culture -, considering the contradictions of this process within the contemporary social model, which, to a large extent, prevents the human being from expressing his uniqueness and establishing a personal identity, which seems to be constantly changing. The work consists of a bibliographical research that combines the different theoretical references, discussing the theme in question, in order to establish a dialogue among different areas of knowledge and to raise new perspectives for educational action. The reading of the world precedes other readings and comprises an understanding of reality and the other, while writing, rather than the domain of a technique, corresponds to the expression of the subject in communication with the reality around him. Reading and writing integrate the process of insertion of the subject into culture, a complex process that is hampered by the structuring of autonomous social conformations, regulated no longer by individuals in interaction, but by dependencies of the social system. The precariousness of life, in this sense, is revealed in many ways and literature, recognizing this phenomenon, articulates means of expressing it. An education of a political nature, based on the formation of critical consciences, capable of perceiving the contradictions of the current system, proposes to break the conditioning of existence. Such dynamics finds in the engaged literature an ally to awaken consciousness through the flow of a controversial, ambiguous, and non-standardized language.
