Abstract

The research aimed to analyze the social representations of young deaf residents of Marajó archipelago about your academic and professional future. The study is anchored in the theory of social representations. The locus of research was the municipality of brief-PA. The methodology was a qualitative approach. The techniques used were the questionnaire and the interview with the aid of an interpreter. Were interviewed five deaf high school. The analysis was made from the thematic content. With regard to academic and professional future, the young deaf people they claim to want first do a degree and pass the Prolibras. In the future professional deaf people want to be teachers of Pounds or instructors (teachers) of the deaf in specialised centres or schools, and finally, make your work can help other deaf to the language itself of its culture - the Pounds.
