SILVA, Givanildo da; SILVA, Alex Vieira da  and  SANTOS, Inalda Maria dos. REFORMS, PRIVATIZATION AND EDUCATIONAL POLICY: CURRENT TRENDS AND RISKS. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2020, n.55, e8717.  Epub Feb 03, 2024. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n55.8717.

The changes resulting from privatization reforms generate conflicts in all social, political, economic, cultural and educational dimensions. The theoretical essay aims to develop a discussion on educational reforms in the context of privatization developed in educational policy. The methodology is based on a critical-reflexive perspective, through a qualitative approach and bibliographic research. As notes, it was possible to perceive that globalization was configured in a phenomenon that contributed to changes in society, through the political conception of neoliberalism with an emphasis on privatization; the educational reforms developed have led to configurations with emphasis on large-scale evaluation, the restructuring of education professionals and the defense of competition between schools, with current trends based on the logic of commodification and the absence of the State in social policies, causing risks to public education.
