This is a documentary research in the area of History of Education with a particular incidence in the field of history and historiography of school institutions. The objective is analyze the relationship between religion and school education in the context of the colonization of the west of Paraná, the case of the implementation of Vincentian High School Incomar, in Toledo City, in 1948. As the first school created and maintained by the Catholic Church in the region, the institution exemplifies very well the alliance between religion and education in the west of Paraná, in the period of its planned occupation. Its implementation was in a period when the Catholicism went through a process of institutional consolidation in the region, and it was used as an effective instrument so that the Church continued to exert its influence in the decisions and directions of that society. The data revealed by the sources, indicate that the Incomar made efforts to fulfill the mission assigned by the Church to school education, which is: to form good Christians and virtuous citizens.
