Abstract

FAVARO, Neide de Almeida Lança Galvão  and  SEMZEZEM, Priscila. SCIENTIFIC PRODUCTION UNDER ECONOMIC LOGIC: A CRITICAL ANALYSIS. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2021, n.57, e10655.  Epub Feb 05, 2024. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n57.10655.

Although research is crucial for human and social development, it has gained different reliefs within present conditions. Current study analyzes the situation of Brazilian scientific production as from its economic essential factors. In fact, factors and their causes and effects have deep roots within the complexity of running transformations. So that they could be revealed, the foregrounding of the Marxist-based relationship of capital is recovered. Its current contradictions and its economic, political, and ideological stances that affect the Brazilian university and professors’ roles are identified. Scientific activity within such relationship has contributed directly to warrant the reproduction of capital because it subsumed to market logic, even though it is basic for the production of human emancipation. A deep struggle is required to change such a complex situation.
