SILVA NETO, Manoel Vaz da. LITERACY, COLONIZATION AND POLITICS. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2022, n.60, e17262.  Epub Feb 08, 2024. ISSN 1983-9278.  https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n60.17262..

This essay has as its central theme the process of initiation of literacy as a founding political element of perception and political-cultural liberation of the dominant language and culture. Relativized with the concept of literacy, it seeks to position itself as a political milestone of conscience and freedom in the face of a literacy process that inscribes itself by inscribing the subject as a peaceful and passive product, as well as subject to the dominant culture.

Keywords : politics; literacy; beginning literacy.
