Abstract

The text has been structured in three parts. In the first part there is a discussion of how the field of Didactics has been built in Brazil, taking into account research findings and the area’s literature data reviews. There are also debatable issues, such as dispersion versus thematic diversification in the field productions, as well as the difficulty to conceive Fundamental Didactics versus the denial of Instrumental Didactics. In the second part, the paper presents a brief description of the Revista Brasileira de Estudos Pedagógicos - Rbep texts and tries to give a picture of the period in which these papers were produced. The third section discusses the results of the analysis, which are organized in four areas: Didactics as a field of study, Didactics as a discipline of teacher education courses; Didactics knowledge in the practice of classrooms, in schools and in non-formal education contexts; and topics related to Didactics. The conclusions go back to questioning issues related to existing tensions found in the field.
