Abstract

PALAU, Roberta de Carvalho Nobre  and  PINO, Mauro Augusto Burkert Del. The recontextualization of competences in professional education: An analysis based on the sociology of education. Educação. UNISINOS [online]. 2015, vol.19, n.3, pp.345-356. ISSN 2177-6210.  https://doi.org/10.4013/edu.2015.193.05.

This article reports the results of an investigation that aimed to analyze the recontextualization process about the competencies insertion in the curriculum of the Electronics Technician Course at the Sul-Rio-Grandense Federal Institute from Pelotas Campus since the implementation of Decree number 2.208/1997. The research was based on a qualitative methodology and used as investigation instruments a closed questionnaire, an interview with eight teachers besides a documentary analysis involving laws that guide the insertion of competencies in the curriculum of professional education. The discussions and the data analysis were done based on the Basil Bernstein and Stephen Ball theories. Among the main achievements, it was important the fact that the Electronics Technician Course teachers present a strong resistance against the competencies what is justified by them on the interview about the way it was introduced in professional education imposed by law and consequently by their own school.

Keywords : Professional Education; Recontextualization; Competence; Curriculum.
