Abstract: This article aims to present a study characterized as state of knowledge, analyzing the main discussions and the results of Brazilian research on the phenomenon of youthfulness in the Education of Young and Adult People (EJA). Methodologically, bibliographic research was used in the study, as proposed by Romanowski and Ens (2006), whose survey was carried out in three databases of relevance to the educational area, namely: CAPES Thesis and Dissertations Catalog, Digital Library of Theses and Dissertations (BDTD) and in the Education Working Group of Young, Adult and Elderly People of ANPEd (in national meetings). The results were analyzed based on the content analysis techniques established by Bardin (1995). The searches identified in these databases were categorized into four categories: Subjects; Schooling and Inclusion, Public Policies and Teacher Training. With different objectives, all research emphasized the importance of considering young people as protagonists in the teaching and learning process and, above all, the discussions pointed to the need to listen to young subjects in order to better understand the phenomenon of youth, as well as pointing out for the promotion of specific public policies, in order to promote, in addition to schooling, the effective inclusion of these young students.
