Abstract

ALMEIDA, Obertal da Silva  and  TEIXEIRA, Paulo Marcelo Marini. TEACHER EDUCATION IN BIOLOGICAL SCIENCES AND THE LEGISLATION ON TEACHER TRAINING: ANALYSIS OF SIMILARITIES AND CONTRASTS. Práx. Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.50, e11122.  Epub May 17, 2024. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v19i50.11122.

This work comparatively analyzed the Pedagogical Projects of three teacher education courses in Biological Sciences of an institution to examine the processes of adjustment to the following official regulations on teacher training: the National Curriculum Guidelines for Biological Sciences Courses (DCN-CB), DCN 01/2002, DCN 02/2015, Resolution n. 70/2019 and the Institutional Pedagogical Project for Initial and Continuing Training of Education Professionals at UESB (PPI-FP / UESB). When analyzing the results, we found that, in general, the three courses have more similarities than differences. In line with the DCN-CB and DCN 01/2002 in the current PPC of the three courses, the main similarities were: the objectives have the same formative perspective, the workload in the Philosophical and Social Foundations dimension is small; Practice as a Curriculum Component (PCC) has its minimum workload distributed throughout the course, without being integrated with activities related to the Supervised Practice, not being contemplated in the disciplines with specific content and with the dynamics of operation without meeting the interdisciplinary perspective. In addition, as a main divergence, we can explain, for example, the fact that two of the courses present the focus of the Course Final Paper (TCC) focused exclusively on the area of education. With regard to DCN 02/2015, in the three courses it is necessary to make some adjustments in the new PPC, mainly in the dynamics of operation and distribution of the PCC, so that they will further promote the identity of the teacher education courses as privileged spaces for initial teacher education.
