Abstract

SANTAIANA, Rochele da Silva  and  CAMOZZATO, Viviane Castro. DISPLACEMENTS OF TIME/SPACE IN EDUCATION: THE CONSTRUCTION OF COMPREHENSIVE SUBJECTIVITIES. Práx. Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.50, e10998.  Epub May 17, 2024. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v19i50.10998.

The central theme of this article is to examine the opposing views for the construction of comprehensive subjectivities from the Mais Educação (“More Education”) and Novo Mais Educação (“New More Education”) Programs. From discussions about the conditions that might make possible the expanding of school time, the centrality of a political rationality that encompasses the notion of comprehensive education as an economic investment and a fruitful way of governing individuals is evidenced. With the contextualization of different political periods in our country, the analysis moved around news that, as discursive material, make evident the displacements of time and space in contemporary Brazilian education, bringing into play articulations with inclusion, social security, the meanings of schooling and society that are in dispute.

Keywords : comprehensive education; school time; subjectivity.
