Abstract

MUTIM, Avelar Luiz Bastos  and  SANTOS, Fabiana Andrade. FOR AN (UN)SUSTAINABLE EDUCATION: REFLECTIONS SINCE OUR CITIZEN CONSTITUTION UNTIL THE CURRENT DAYS. Práx. Educ. [online]. 2023, vol.19, n.50, e11148.  Epub May 17, 2024. ISSN 2178-2679.  https://doi.org/10.22481/praxisedu.v19i50.11148.

This article proposes to analyze how some political actions implemented on/for education provide an educational crisis, thus compromising its maintenance. To reach this goal, qualitative research of a descriptive nature was chosen through analysis of the Arendtian philosophy outlined in the books “The crisis in education” and “Reflections on little rock" and, also, of some articles of the following norms: Constitution of the Federative Republic of Brazil (CRFB/88), Law n. 13.415/2017 establishing the Common National Curricular Base (BNCC), Resolution n. 04/2018 establishing the Common National Curricular Base in the High School Stage (BNCC/EM) and Resolution n. 02/2019 establishing the National Curriculum Guidelines for the Initial Training of Teachers for Basic Education and establishing the Common National Base for the Initial Training of Basic Education Teachers (BNC/Training). It is significant to mention that specific legislative alterations create an educational and also show market bias. Based on the neoliberal ideology, this political rationality imposes the “logics of capital”. As a result, the school becomes a resource for its expansion. Considering this scenario, public educational policies - based on constitutional principles - should be built on the three fundaments of what is known as “Restorative Education”: its difficulties, potential and necessary actions.

Keywords : education; public policies; crisis; restoration; restaurative education.
