Abstract

BOUFLEUER, José Pedro; COSSETIN, Vânia Lisa Fischer  and  JOHANN, Maria Regina. Research: three formative dimensions. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e022020.  Epub Mar 10, 2024. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v27.e022020.

This article presents research as a formative principle and highlights its relevance to the dimension of knowledge and learning, bringing evidence that it is the human way of knowing and comprehending. Its objective is to draw attention to different formative dimensions of research which, in a certain sense, may be located as assumptions or prior to any modalities, methods, types or strategies of its specific accomplishment. In this direction, research can be understood, in general terms, as constituent of the way of being human and, in specific terms, as constituent of the way of being student and also teacher. To this end, it is argued that language is a distinctive feature of humans that allows them to symbolize, interpret, comprehend and transform; such aspects make it possible to say that the constitution of the human world is a self-creation. Finally, research stands out as an effort to comprehend practical situations through the use of theoretical and/or interpretative categories and as a human activity of fundamental importance, and it also has in educational institutions a privileged place for its optimization, in which teaching, research and practical experience of life interrelate.
