Abstract

ALVARENGA, Márcia Soares  and  VIEIRA, Maria Clarisse. Popular education and youth and adult education within times of bonds and passages. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2022, vol.27, e0220059.  Epub Apr 10, 2024. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v27.e0220059.

This article aims to address the intertwining between the Popular Education (GT 06) Working Group and the Education of Young and Adult People (GT 18) Working Group, emphasizing the conditions that made researchers dedicated to studying the education of young people and adults to postulate a place of debates for discussions of research of specific interests in the organizational structure of Anped. The article is anchored in the critical theory formulated by Walter Benjamin, in particular the materialist-dialectical concept of history being gone through against the grain in order to highlight the crossings and passages that had an impact on apparent dissonances in relation to the field of Popular Education. The article makes use of bibliographical and documental analysis, in order to approach the 40 years of the creation of the Popular Education GT 18, including the events that begin the repositioning of researchers to define a field of research on youth and adult education, for middle of GT 18. The article argues that, in the national context, the conditions produced by the democratic transition contributed to a conjuncture favorable to the crossings to think about epistemologies and resignifications of experiences both in Popular Education and in the education of young people and adults from a scholar perspective. In addition to capturing dissonances that led to the formation of this group in its specificities, the text shows the interfaces between these groups in the academic field through confrontations against actions imposed by the dismantling of democracy, by the criminal siege of native peoples, by quilombola’s people and workers. From the country side and the city. The text also indicates that the creation of G 18 did not mean that there were ruptures with principles that guide YAE in the perspective of Popular Education, considering that the modality brings with it the social mark of systemically oppressed groups, whose stories are open to rebellious writings.
