Abstract

DAROS, Maria das Dores  and  PEREIRA, Elaine Aparecida Teixeira. Christian sociology and the thinking of Alceu Amoroso Lima at a catholic school of teacher training in Santa Catarina. Rev. Bras. Hist. Educ [online]. 2015, vol.15, n.1, pp.235-267. ISSN 2238-0094.  https://doi.org/10.4025/rbhe.v15i1.634.

This work analyzes the sociological principles that are present in the educational debate and in the teacher training in the context post 1930, focusing the normal course of Colégio Coração de Jesus, a catholic school located in Florianópolis/SC. Through the research in the bibliographic collection of the institution, were located paper works oriented by a spiritualist or Christian Sociology, written by intellectuals such as Alceu Amoroso Lima. Besides the works, the content of the periodic Pétalas and the existence of the Clube de Sociologia Tristão de Ataíde reveal the catholic reaction to the precepts of Sociology ('scientistic' and 'naturalist') spreading at the time, as well as the strategy of purifying the ideas that were contrary to christian principles.
