The idea of deepen the studies on civil indifference towards children came from two previous researches, which are taken up here, allowing understand the path taken by this study. There is a relative abundance of research demonstrating the exclusion of differences in school, however, the situations of social subordination persist, which indicates the need for studies that put in evidence the processes of formation of a particular way of conceiving social morality supported by the “bourgeois coldness” (bürgerliche kälte). This phenomenon, due to the civil indifference, is manifested in school practices and rituals, leading to desensitization concomitantly to the imposition of educational inequalities. Research results regarding the cold moral indicate that numerous everyday situations of conflict are experienced in education, in which indifference is transmitted to students since the early years of schooling, amid the contradictions between the proposition to educate-teach-form in the perspective of knowledge universalization and unequal objective conditions of educational opportunities.
