This study aimed at analyzing the social representations of first-year students in Education and check their expectations about the course. The case-study research had a qualitative approach, and the methodological procedures used were semi-structured interviews and desk analysis. Twelve first-year students were selected to take part in the study. The understanding of the students’ different representation can contribute to the rethinking of the course’s pedagogical project and support the actions of the faculty members involved in the training of future teachers.
