Abstract

The brazilian public school has been faced, with some frequency, with proposals, projects and other experiments aimed at the expansion of the student’s time at school, notably through the creation of integral time schools. This expansion is expected in the LDB 9394/96 and currently sets a target in the National Education Plan (2014-2024), recently approved by Law nº. 13,005/14. Thus, considering the relevance of the theme and the strong tendency of expansion of integral time school, this paper was to study experiences of focus integral time schools in Brazil, highlighting the two of them in particular: the Centro Educacional Carneiro Ribeiro, for his pioneering, and Escola de Tempo Integral Paulista, in actuality in Brazilian history. It sought to thereby reflect on the role of schools from these educational experiences. To this end, they were used as study analysis bibliographic and documental. It was found that there is an explicit link between the increase in school time and the increase in school functions, especially in the health care field, development of full-time project along the Brazilian history.
