The main objective of the study was to identify the social representations of a hundred teachers regarding children and youth in street situation In order to become a social representation this content must induce a necessity to transform something unfamiliar into a socially shared meaning. The results showed that teachers are torn between fear and compassion for this children and youth. And they also consider that any means of change must be carried out by public authorities. The children´s and youth families were seen as the primary reason for their living home.
