Abstract

We focus on the pedagogical dimension of the Peasant Leagues and its contribution for the creation of the collective popular will in the struggle for the democratization of land access in Pernambuco, Brazil. Elements of the political-legal-economic environment are outlined as main historical influences in area and agrarian structure in Brazil, which strengthened old rural and urban oligarchies and fuelled many country conflicts.
