The elaboration of this work results from bibliographic and field research, carried out in the São Francisco do Conde Municipal Education System, in the State of Bahia. The objective was to analyze the attributions assumed by the pedagogical coordinators from the perspective of the construction of their professional identity. The research was characterized as exploratory and qualitative in approach. Through it, it is possible to notice that the perpetuation of attribution tensions interferes significantly with the coordinator’s professional profile, makes their work unviable, and compromises the quality of pedagogical management.
