This text aims to discuss the possible relations between the ideas of Positivism and the School without Party Movement. The theoretical-methodological perspective adopted in the analysis is the historical and dialectical materialism. Both the Positivist principals and the School without Party Movement claim to ascribe a neutral character to human activities, affirming that its precepts would be exempt from any ideology, value or interest of social class. However, a brief look at the history reveals that the defense of neutrality is set against the background of denying the historical character of the class struggle and of the subjects themselves in the quest to establish the hegemony of the ruling class.
