Abstract

This article brings together two studies that analyze the Brazilian educational academic production on lesbian and trans teachers. These studies primarily use master’s and doctoral research presented at scientific events and/or produced in stricto sensu postgraduate programs to compose the empirical corpus. The former, on lesbian teachers, examines the period from 2014 to 2020. The latter, on trans teachers, analyzes the decade from 2009 to 2019. Both studies are underpinned by a research agenda that investigates teaching work, gender and sexuality in a postgraduate program in southern region of the country, mobilizing concepts from the fields of Teaching Studies and Gender Studies in a post-structuralist perspective. This article analyzes the processes of regulation of teaching, based on a cisheteronormative matrix; and the movements of resistance and reexistence from the perspective of what is called the queerization of teaching.
