Abstract

MELLO, Yasmin Teixeira  and  MAGALHAES, Joanalira Corpes. “I MADE MYSELF A RESEARCHER BEFORE I BECAME TRANS”: (RE)EXISTENCES IN THE SCIENTIFIC FIELD. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2023, vol.32, n.72, pp.220-234.  Epub May 06, 2024. ISSN 2358-0194.  https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2023.v32.n72.p220-234.

Historically, trans people have had their presence made impossible in the most varied spaces, as is the case of the scientific field. Based on this finding, the present article presents an excerpt from a master’s research, which aims to weave interlocutions with the narrative of a trans researcher, related to his trajectory of constitution as a researcher. For this, an online interview was conducted, with the aid of a semi-structured script, in which the narratives were understood as a discursive modality. The narratives were organized into: Narrative axis 1: Production of gender and constitution as a researcher; and Narrative axis 2: Difficulties, prejudices, and resistances. By dialoguing with the researcher’s narrative, it was possible to think about the marks that the gender transition process promoted in its constitution in the field of research, as well as the difficulties, prejudices and resistances present throughout its professional and academic trajectory.
