The aim of this article is to discuss and problematize both the dissemination and praise of mobile learning from the tool concepts of discursive practice and subjectivity. Digital narratives produced by Basic Education students and discursive practices mobilized by UNESCO constitute the empirical basis for the discussion held in this problematization. The narratives have shown that adolescents’ use of mobile digital technology as a learning tool is restricted to utilitarianism, training and reproduction. Based on Foucauldian studies, the analysis has enabled us to state that the exacerbation of the idea of mobile learning creates conditions of possibility for the production of other types of subjectivities, more participatory and dispersed, linked to the necessity of network connection. This other kind of subjectivity is called Homo œconomicus discentis accessibilis, a subject that besides being his or her own entrepreneur also assumes the need to remain available to access and be accessed.
