This study aims to analyze the paths of academic production on municipal evaluation systems (2014-2019) allocated in the Brazilian Digital Library of Thesis and Dissertations, and CAPES Journals portal. A qualitative approach is adopted, whose corpus is constituted through content analysis, categorization of works and inferences. The fundamental assumption is that there are systems in consolidation, as a result of national policies, mainly the municipalization of educational provision. These systems need to be better delineated as to the assumptions and strategies assumed, and direction owing to the responsibilities assumed in the municipalities.
