Abstract

CAVALIERI, Rosalia. The reasons of the taste's sensuality. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.2, pp.200-225. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/217846122222.

Between the taste, the food and the pleasure there is a complex link that goes beyond the needs related to survival, contributing to the attainment of that happiness which is the ultimate goal toward which the man is oriented. Source of nourishment for the body as for the mind, and of enjoyment at the same time, the act of tasting satisfies all the senses, turn on our emotional life (gratifies us, comforts us, satisfies us), stimulates the mind, promotes sociality, gratifies our aesthetic and synesthetic sense, urges the conversation, sometimes creates enjoyable dependencies, and it is thus enriched of different meanings. On this basis, this essay, drawing from different sources, aims to give back to the multifaceted pleasure of taste its true value, exploring its many facets, the many ways that we invented to prolong this pleasure, looking for gratifications of the palate alternative to those offered by nature. A theme philosophically and anthropologically interesting, especially for those who intend to practice an embodied philosophy, that is based on the living body and equipped of sensitivity.
