Abstract

CONTER, Marcelo Bergamin; TELLES, Marcio  and  SILVA, Alexandre Rocha da. Semiotics of affects: an epistemological approach. Conjectura: filos. e Educ. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.spe, pp.36-48. ISSN 2178-4612.  https://doi.org/10.18226/21784612.v22.n.especial.03.

In this paper, we aim towards an epistemological approach of affects in semiotics. We start from the idea that it is impossible not to affect either not being affected, thus establishing some parameters to define what affect means (without relating it with emotion, passion or sensation). Along these lines, we can handle both epistemic and ontological dimensions of semiosis. Following Deleuze and Guattari, and Espinosa, we present the idea that the semiosis have a “sensational” quality beyond a signifying capacity, hence bringing the processuality of such phenomenon closer to the affective chains that derive from every affection.

Keywords : Affect; Semiotics; Communication Theories; Spinoza.
