Abstract

SCHWARZ, Douglas; VOELZKE, Marcos Rincon  and  MACEDO, Josué Antunes de. Influence of the educational context on teaching astronomy. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2021, vol.30, e8709.  Epub June 22, 2021. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v30ijan/dez.8709.

This paper discusses a research in which it tried to verify if strategies such as Astronomy workshops and the use of digital technologies are sufficient to arouse students’ interest. The theoretical framework was based on Ausubel’s Theory of Meaningful Learning. The research methodology was data analysis and triangu-lation, with an emphasis on mixed methods. In the experimental group, interventions were implemented through Astronomy workshops, telescopic observations and digital techno-logies. In the group, control conventional classes. It was possible to conclude that, in order to achieve Meaningful Learning, one of the possibilities is that the student is willing to learn.

Keywords : Teaching Strategies; Astronomy; Meaningful Learning.
