Abstract

AMARAL, Jeane Costa; HADDAD, Lenira  and  FOLQUE, Maria Assunção. Cultural heritage and belonging: contribution to thinking about early childhood curriculum. R. Educ. Públ. [online]. 2021, vol.30, e12321.  Epub Sep 01, 2021. ISSN 2238-2097.  https://doi.org/10.29286/rep.v30ijan/dez.12321.

The article presents part of a research that sought to understand the theoretical and practical dimensions that make up the relationship between child, city and heritage in the context of early childhood education and covered two historic cities. The analysis stems from the ethnographic research carried out in Penedo, AL, involving the monitoring of children from two municipal pre-schools on their way out onto the city streets, mobilized for several reasons. Five episodes that measure the strength of local culture are considered the mainstay for the participation, meaning and / or resignification of cultural heritage by children, breaking the distance that separates knowledge and practices from local culture from school culture.

Keywords : Early Childhood Education; City; childhood; cultural heritage.
