The present study aimed to understand the knowledge of technology required of participants in the Exame Nacional do Ensino Médio [National High School Exam]. We analyzed questions from the Languages, Codes and their Technologies exam from 2009, 2011 and 2020 in the light of Critical Theory, regarding the following elements: text, problem situations, statements and alternatives. The results show that the tests assess whether or not the participant knows how to use technology, focusing on identification, without reflection. The knowledge about technology evaluated focus on training adapted to the demands of flexible capital in the 21st century.
