The present article reports aspects of an action research-training conducted along with social agencies located in the French countryside. The study had the dual purpose of investigating the possibilities of introducing intervention practices to the resources and the demands of local inhabitants and to promote professional reflection on the meaning of their actions. The article aims to approach this problem in the context of current social policies and to highlights the originality of the developed device, describing its stages and modalities. It demonstrates, resorting to the statements of professionals involved, how their own research experience brought about a shift that favored changes in personal attitudes and in professional practices; it also demonstrates how the practices of taking written records and implementing collective work became privileged means for the development of reflexivity.
