LIMA, Silvana Lúcia da Silva. THE LEADING ROLE OF SOCIAL MOVEMENTS IN THE EXPERIENCE OF THE POST GRADUATION IN FIELD EDUCATION AT UFRB. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2021, vol.30, n.61, pp.38-51. Epub 18-Oct-2021. ISSN 2358-0194. https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2020.v30.n61.p38-51.
Public policy on field education is a way for the State to guarantee access to education with its specificities and as a general and universal right. To this end, public universities were called upon to articulate knowledge production processes socially committed to the quality of social reproduction of peasant life and the Federal University of Recôncavo da Bahia (UFRB) responded to the call by creating undergraduate and graduate courses, among them the Master in field education, which brings a counter-hegemonic training proposal that seeks technical-scientific and theoretical-practical answers to the dilemmas and problems faced by rural people, especially in the educational field. For the realization of the article, the documents of the referred program were analyzed, a bibliographic review of texts was made and an evaluation of the 73 course completion works registered in the program. The themes and research objects, in addition to being individual options for master students, are reality problems guided by social movements, associations, production groups or collectives of educators and forums, showing the commitment of Master's students, teachers, supervisors and the course itself with the production of knowledge and the demands of the people of the field. The diversity manifested in the Postgraduate Course in field education at UFRB via its subjects, research themes, research products, territorial origin and political and institutional affiliations contributes to the public and free university project that field education advocates, painted of people with all their colors, creeds, races and flags of progressive struggles.
