LAZZAROTTI FILHO, Ari; ZANOTTO, Luana y CARRARO, Attilio. BRAZIL AND ITALY: ANALYSIS OF THE CONTRIBUTIONS OF PHYSICAL EDUCATION IN TEACHER EDUCATION FOR PRESCHOOL AND ELEMENTARY SCHOOL. Revista da FAEEBA: Educação e Contemporaneidade [online]. 2024, vol.33, n.73, pp.170-186. Epub 01-Mayo-2024. ISSN 2358-0194. https://doi.org/10.21879/faeeba2358-0194.2023.v33.n73.p170-186.
The objective of this research was to analyze in a comparative perspective the presence of Physical Education contributions in two university study programmes, in Brasil and in Italy, that educate kindergarten and primary school teachers. The methodology used was comparative studies, under the curriculum analysis unit, to identify relations of similarity, differences, and meanings in the two studied courses. The empirical corpus of analysis was composed of the corresponding Brazilian and Italian documents: National Guidelines for teacher education; pedagogical projects for courses and teaching plans for disciplines closely related to Physical Education. As a result, it is highlighted that Physical Education contributions are not very present in the Brazilian course and are more frequently represented in the Italian course. This is due to the number of disciplines, the number of Physical Education teachers and the workload devoted to these specific contents. In the Brazilian curriculum, the centrality is in the body-art relationship, in particular dance; in Italy, the most common themes are motor activities, sport activities and movement games. As for the influence of different scientific areas, the Brazilian curriculum is organized according to a socio-cultural perspective, while the Italian one is more influenced by developmental psychology.
