FERREIRA, Luciana Haddad; SOARES, Neuzita de Paula y AGUIAR, Thiago Borges. Relationships, methods, words: (auto)biographical narrative research by Maria Helena Abrahão. Rev. Diálogo Educ. [online]. 2024, vol.24, n.80, pp.170-184. Epub 29-Abr-2024. ISSN 1981-416X. https://doi.org/10.7213/1981-416x.24.080.ds11.
The study presented here aims to discuss the contributions of Maria Helena Menna Barreto Abrahão, teacher and researcher, to (auto)biographical narrative research and to the field of teacher training studies. To this end, we use the same premise defended by Maria Helena throughout her career: we place life at the center of the process and take her own (auto)biographical narrative as an object of study and reflection. For analysis, we present excerpts from the researcher's narrative, produced in the context of a narrative interview, emphasizing the connections between teacher training and the (auto)biographical paradigm of knowledge production about education. Among different aspects presented in the narrative, we highlight three dimensions. In the first, relationships, we understand that research and its field only exist in the space of dialogue. In the second, the methods, we understand the differences between paradigms guided by the perspective of reality and the paradigm discussed here that is open to the unprecedented at the time of the research. In the third, words, we observe how consolidated terms in the investigative field change as result of human interaction. The study also recognizes the researcher's contribution to strengthening the theoretical bases of (auto)biographical research. The cutting-edge investigative work of this Brazilian woman opened the way for a research movement that has contributed significantly to the training and development of teachers in the country.
