This article presents the results of a research that sought to identify and analyze the social representations of a public high school, developed by school administrators. An online field study was carried out with 10 managers of state public schools in Recife, Jaboatão dos Guararapes and Paulista, in which narratives from managers and sent by e-mail were privileged. The Atlas.ti software helped to analyse the contendo of the narratives. The results reveal that the social representations of the pedagogical practice of managers are centered on collective work and that such representations emphasize the importance of good relationships and the manager's active posture to face the challenges of the function, as well as reiterate the importance of the pedagogical practice of the managers to implement policies aimed at high schools.
