Evaluating contributes to a reflection on pedagogical practices and the quality of teaching in Higher Education Institutions. The article aims to analyze how the evaluation instruments of the National Higher Education Assessment System were implemented in the pedagogical projects of undergraduate courses at a federal institution of higher education. The qualitative approach, with the use of documental analysis of the Pedagogical Projects of Courses, was the applied methodology. It was noted that external and institutional evaluations are treated superficially. There’s no perception of the difference between them and little use of the results. Thus, it’s crucial to implement an evaluative culture that favors in-depth knowledge of reality and improvement of management and pedagogical means.
