ANDREOLA, Balduino Antonio. Mounier and the condition of the woman. Sér.-Estud. [online]. 2017, vol.22, n.45, pp.195-208. ISSN 2318-1982. https://doi.org/10.20435/serie-estudos.v22i45.961.
In 1936 an issue of Esprit entitled: The woman is also a person, with an article in which Mounier denounces that there have been revolutions against the oppression of the proletarians, but none in defense of a much larger proletariat, the one of the women. Against the rejection almost general, 13 years after, he sees it positively, albeit with reservations, the book by S. Beauvoir: The Second Sex. He resumes the theme "the status of women" in these books: Manifest to the service of Personalism, Treaty of character, When Christianity dies, Personalism. Mounier's positions in defense of the dignity of the woman and his denounces to the prejudices of the time against her and to the conceptions of the Church, justifying her domestic confinement and her total submission to man, are widely rescued by scholars as Giulia P. Di Nicola, Michelle Perrot and Attilio Danese. His worldview and of Church make him a layman precursor of Vatican II. The woman who seeks his release as an individual, will face even in the conquered freedom, the limits and the bonds of individualism, if it can not be opened , as a person, to otherness and transcendence, in the fullness of their human vocation.
