The aim of this article is to problematize the role of the National Association of Postgraduate and Research in Education (ANPEd) in the set of struggles for education and democracy. The Association has been a resistance to conservative and privatization directed policies in education and a mediator in the construction of effectively democratic public policies. This work is the fruit of a documentary analysis of newsletters, work group (GTs) contents and news items published on the Association’s web page. The struggle for education and human emancipation is present in the political practice of ANPEd, which in turn, constitutes itself as a collective voice of resistance to hegemonic guidelines. The movement of the GTs constitution evidences the political position of the Association and reveals the constitution of investigation objects from social practices.
