The present research consisted of two stages: (i) production of a Guide of Studies in which the history of scientific research about yellow fever (1881-1903) was used as subsidy for the discussion of some important aspects of the process of production of knowledge in science; (ii) accomplishment of pedagogical experience in which the Guide of Studies was applied to High School students. Results showed evidence of the viability of the use of History of Science in Science Teaching.
