This paper aims to present and analyze an experience developed in order to introduce Distance Education at the Cabo Verde University in the academic year 2008/2009. The pilot project, using the Moodle platform, was developed with thirty teachers and nine hundred students. The main results included the following: (1) subjects created in a Moodle plataform with essential contents and programs available, (2) heavily used tools to interact (mainly the Discussion Forum), (3) complemented and enriched classes.
