Stoicism is a philosophical movement whose objective is to reflect and propose actions that indicate ways for the good life of human beings, especially through practical and ethical teachings, via moral education of humankind. Epictetus aims at substantiating this doctrine of the values of soul in his Enchiridion, compiled by his disciple Flavius Arrianus. Hence, the present work adduces some moral and educational maxims for possible contributions in indicating ways for the good life, contextualizing them according to aspects of the current consumerist education conceived by institutions, primarily the media, in the light of Theodor Adorno's concept of emancipation.
