COSTA, Antonio Carlos Figueiredo. THE TEACHING OF AFRO-BRAZILIAN HISTORY AND CULTURE IN DARK TIMES: THEORETICAL AND TEMPESTUOUS REFLECTIONS. Eccos Rev. Cient. [online]. 2022, n.60, e21731. Epub 08-Feb-2024. ISSN 1983-9278. https://doi.org/10.5585/eccos.n60.21731.
This study intends to take advantage of scripts and learning gained in teacher training courses, when teaching the History and Culture-Afro-Brazilian Discipline. At the same time, it seeks to point out the need to add to this discipline the recent historiographic innovations that contributed to resize the perception of Brazilian social formation, in the face of capitalist development and insertion in a globalized world, especially between the 16th and 19th centuries. It is from this historical framework that we believe it is possible to articulate the anti-racist discourse, as a necessary condition for the re-education of ethnic-racial relations in the Brazilian case. We argue that the theoretical construct to be formulated must rely on the knowledge of past times in the conditions exposed above, tuning to this, the discussions that pass through the theoretical waves of Brazilian racial thought.
