TREVISOL, Maria Teresa Ceron; RHODEN, Hingrith Vanessa y HOFFELDER, Salete Heckler. A virtude moral da justiça em foco: um estudo sobre a compreensão de alunos entre 6 e 7 anos. Roteiro. UNOESC [online]. 2009, vol.34, n.02, pp.295-310. ISSN 2177-6059.
Knowledge about moral values - what they are, how they develop, what the contribution of school in their construction is - is essencial in the social context we live due to individualism, competitiveness and exacerbated consumption. This article aims to analize the understanding of students between the ages of six and seven years old about justice as a virtue and as it is perceived and experienced in their daily life. This analysis is based on an empirical study with a group of fourteen students who attend the first grade of elementary school. According to the students who took part in this research, being fair means knowing how to divide things, respecting people, obeying their parents, avoid fighting, helping their mothers with housework, among other related attitudes. The first notions of justice are being built based on instructions children receive from adults to whom confidence is attributed, whether in the family, school or in social groups, although the contact with other children is essential to the understanding, interiorization and use of these rules in their daily life.
