The text integrates the bibliographic studies that have been carried out in order to bring Paulo Freire’s thought closer to others authors having in mind the recreation of his thoughts towards the challenges faced nowadays. It is part of a production that comes from an ongoing investigation path, in different and complementary moments concerning the approach of the authors’ thoughts with other critical pedagogical references. The intellectual relationship between Paulo Reglus Neves Freire and Boaventura de Sousa Santos is argued due to their convergences and complementarities, showing in this work concepts that express proximity among other authors regarding the counter-hegemonic direction and sense of both author’s thoughts. Sulear as práticas is an expression that results from the study accomplished suggested as orientation to support the formation of teachers under emancipatory educative practices.
