MONTEIRO, Noedi. The education of the ethnic and racial relations in the Brazilian language and dialogues. Rev. Comunic [online]. 2014, vol.21, n.1, pp.67-90. ISSN 2238-121X. https://doi.org/10.15600/2238-121X/comunicacoes.v21n1p67-90.
The purpose of the article is to focus on the pathways of the ethnic and racial relations developed and applied in Brazil, throughout its history, as well as to specific languages inherent to the living together and the formation of the Brazilian people. The formation of the people, born out of black, indigenous and cultural experiences, was influenced by theories and concepts forged under the power of the colonization and its dominant hierarchy. We´ll deal with the dimension of how images and other figures have strong persuasive power, through the repetition of clichés and stereotypes that become a recognized truth as time goes by. To consider the blacks in a disparaging way is to conceive them as a subordinate race unable to walk the path of civilization in line with the racial theories de Lapouge (1854-1930), Spencer (1820-1903), Ingenieros (1877-1925), Nina Rodrigues (1862-1906) and Oliveira Viana (1833-1951).
